Avdo Metjahić
Avdo Metjahić is a Bosniak writer, publicist, and activist born in 1947 in Plav and Gusinje (Montenegro). Since 1970, he has lived in the United States, where he has spent decades actively preserving Bosniak culture, language, and identity.
He is the author of several novels on Balkan history and the experiences of Bosniaks and Albanians, including: Elderly Conversations, Exile (Muhadžerluk), Djafar Pasha Koljindar (Džafer-paša Koljindar), Winds of the Prokletije (Vjetrovi Prokletija), and “Fortress of Freedom” (Tvrđava slobode). His most recent novel, The Quiet Strength of Man, (Tiha snaga čovjeka) is available in English.
